Present: Adrian, Helen, Sally, Lynn, Carol K., Andy, Patrick (Veggies)
Apologies: Gail.
1. Adrian to follow up John Taylor over what exactly council policy on the closure is. Gail suggests we should emphasise that we want replacements for all Noel Street's facilities, not just the pools.
2. Carol said Leo had given Gail the forms to transfer the Residents' Group account and we did not need the old signatories - we can just fill in the form and take over the account. Adrian to talk to Gail.
3. Andy reported that our Co-Op account had finally been set up.
4. With General Election campaigning under way, it was thought that local councillors, parties and candidates may be more receptive to our point of view. Adrian to ask parliamentary candidates their views on the pool. We will publicise the election hustings in Sherwood on the 19th and encourage people to ask about the pool, perhaps relating it to urban regeneration, public health and the national issue of pool closures.
5. Gail has suggested we organise a fun event to keep people interested in the campaign. Possibly a kids party at Noel St.
6. There are various events coming at which we should be represented:
A fair at Hyson Green market this Saturday. Andy to photocopy leaflets and leave them with Patrick so we everyone can pick them up on the day and do a bit of leafletting.
Arboretum fair on 28th May and Green Fair on 29th May. We will either book stalls for these events or nick a bit of someone else's - more leafletting.
Sept 3rd - Forest Fields Day. Good opportunity to make contact with local people.
Noel Street Open Days - we should try and use them by leafletting or by getting more involved.
7. Andy to continue following up Partnership Council article.
Next meeting will be on Weds 11th May at 7:30pm in the Sumac Centre.
